Cops is a 1922 comedy short silent film about a young man (Buster Keaton) who somehow gets on the bad side of the entireLos Angeles Police Department during a parade, and is chased all over town. One of Keaton’s most iconic and brilliantly-constructed short films, Cops was deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in their National Film Registry in 1997
Blue Grassy Knoll first wrote this score for the 1997 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and received 5 stars at the Edinburgh Festival in 1999. Other performances include at the National Theatre in London, and Spiers Festival in Capetown, South Africa, and the Cultural Inglaisa Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
